Center
goals
To become the main domestic center, offering opportunities for
continuous qualification for library and information specialists
in the following areas: new information technologies and their
applications in libraries; management of libraries, information
resources, services and library staff.
The Center for Continuing Education for Librarians is part of
the Central and Eastern European network of educational centers,
collaborating with the Regional Library Program in Budapest. Thus
it will facilitate exchange for educational programs, teaching
staff, and students.
Programs
and Organization of the Training Process
The teaching process is conducted by short-term courses (three-days,
one-week), and other forms, applied and certified by the Sofia
University.
The
individual teaching programs are grouped in modules based on primary
priorities. The programs are open, flexible and are subject to
change depending on the needs of the students.
Various
methods are employed in the training process: lectures, practice
exercices, distant education, quizes, discussions, project development,
etc. The emphasis is on building of practical skills and knowledge
of the participants.
